Ike
(CNN) -- People along the Texas coast were leaving home or planning to evacuate Thursday as Hurricane Ike churned toward them, slowly intensifying on its march west.

Forecasters say the storm could slam into the Texas coast -- south of Galveston -- as a powerful Category 3 storm late Friday or early Saturday.

Mandatory and voluntary evacuations were planned or underway in at least seven coastal counties.

Aransas County, on the eastern coast of Texas, has ordered a mandatory evacuation of all nonessential government employees, becoming the latest county in the state to urge residents to flee.

In Galveston, city officials ordered mandatory evacuations for part of the island town beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday. The rest of the town will be under a voluntary evacuation order. Only residents will be required to evacuate on the western end of the island.

Read more at CNN...

Hmmm... I wasn't expecting that the hurricane would reach Texas. This is still the eastern coast part, but still. Let's pray it wouldn't be so bad. Let's pray that God's protection surrounds us!

Over time you've healed so much of me
And I am living proof
That although my darkest hour would come
Your light could still shine through
And though at times its just enough to cast
A shadow on the wall
I am grateful that you shine your light on me at all.

Who am I that you would love me so gently?
Who am I that you would recognize my name?
Lord, who am I that you would speak to me so softly
A conversation with the love most high.
Who am I?

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved
A wretch like me
I was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see.
And the more I sing that sweet old song the more I understand
That I do not comprehend this love that's coming from your hand.

Such a sweet song with lovely lyrics. This has been a wonderful blessing for me today :) Click here for youtube of the live performance.

When I made this, I couldn't remember a couple things about HOW to pan-fried it. Firstly, I put wayyyy too much oil and then when it comes to putting the water in, the "explosion" of the water & oil became just too much. You know, when you fry some tofu or some kind of watery food. It wasn't suppose to make that "explosion" at all. So the first trial was a disaster. The second trial, I just messed around again and again, and everything just didn't work until I suddenly remember how to do it right :P

Also... I went with the "semi-homemade" way which is just buying the dumpling skin instead of making them from scratch :) The dumpling skin that I bought was the white one and it is round-shaped. Yellow dumpling skins won't work because it wouldn't be for kuo-tieh... it would be more suitable for pangsit goreng :)

Anyway... here's the recipe in Indonesian.

Bahan Isi:
200 gr ground pork
100 gr udang iris halus
100 gr sawi putih, iris halus
1 sdm bawang putih cincang
2 sdm chives (atau bisa juga daun ketumbar/cilantro if you like), iris halus
2 sdm kecap ikan
1 sdm sesame oil
1 sdt arak merah/angciu (i didn't have ang ciu on hand, so i used bai-ciu/arak putih instead)
1 sdt garam
1 sdt gula
½ sdt merica
½ sdt vetsin
½ sdt maggie blok (optional!!! this is just my preference :))
1 sdm tapioca starch

Mix everything together.

Cara Membuat:
1. Taro adonan isi di tengah lembaran kulit. Not too much. Probably about 1/2 sdm.
2. Lipat kulit so it becomes ½ lingkaran. Kerut ujung2nya to kind of "glue it off". Like this.
3. Siapkan wajan (non-stick!) dengan 2 sdm minyak (remember, not too much oil!)
4. Masukkan kuo-tie dalam minyak panas. Don't overcrowd! Tutup wajannya. On this process, we just want the bottom part of the kuo-tieh to be brownish.
5. When the bottom part is brown, siram dengan air (about 1/2 cup), tutup wajannya.
6. Just let it cooking until the water evaporates. Baru abis itu diangkat.
5. Your kuo tieh is ready! Taste best with sambal, of course! :)

Sambal:
1. Your favorite saos sambal (We ate it with our homemade saos sambal from Indonesia, but sambal ABC will work too :))
2. Bawang putih halus, sesuai selera
3. Kecap asin (optional)
4. Minyak Wijen (optional)

Mix everything together and eat your kuo-tieh with that! :)

I could have fortune and fame
go anywhere do anything
But oh God, I just want You
I could search for earthly things
to satisfy my every need
Oh God, I just want You

I just want You
I just want You
I just wanna live in Your presence everyday
I lay down my will and every selfish desire
Whatever it takes
Father that's what I'll do
Cause I just want You

Standing in this holy place
I'm here to seek Your face
Oh God, I just want You
Can You feel the passion in my heart
to be close to where You are
Oh God, I just want You

I know these things are quite cheesy, but surprisingly most of them are true for me personally. That's the reason i'm putting these up.

How You Are In Love

You take a while to fall in love with someone. Trust takes time.

You give completely and unconditionally in relationships.

You need your space and privacy. You don't like to be smothered.

You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.

You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.

Your Ideal Relationship is Serious Dating

You're not ready to go walking down the aisle.
But you may be ready in a couple of years.
You prefer to date one on one, with a commitment.
And while chemistry is important, so is compatibility.

People Envy Your Generosity

You're a giving soul, and you'd do almost anything for those you love. And they'd do anything for you!
People may envy how giving you are, but more than anything, they envy those you open your heart to.

This is the one that I think the most true:

How You Life Your Life

You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside.
You tend to avoid confrontation and stay away from sticky situations.
You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly.
You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren't attainable.

Oh by the way, after watching Spain & France played, I really don't want to let go of France in the WC. Well, it's gonna be tough for either one of the winner because they're fighting Brazil anyways, but still.. Je veux l'equipé francais to win :)

You Are Mint Green

Balanced and calm, you have mastered the philosophy of living well.
Your friends seek you out for support, and you are able to bring stability to chaotic situations.
You're very open and cheerful - and you feel like you have a lot of freedom in life.
Your future may hold any number of exciting things, and you're ready for all of them!

Today, David & I have been one and a half year together. Good day, it should be. But apparently not so much at the end of the day.

My true deep condolences for the Mavericks.

I was especially so sad when seeing Coach Avery Johnson talked after the winner's celebration. But let's be fair. I admit that Dwayne Wade did a great job and he deserve the MVP (although I wanted Nowitzki to be one).

By the way my boyfriend told me about Marquis Daniels's tattoo (he's one of the Mavericks). Look at this and this. The second one is Psalm 91. Interesting.

Lately I have been in the slacking mood so much. That gets to be severe enough to make me irritated. It also caused me a brain dead, which was proven by losing my design & typography skill.

Goodness! It's not that I don't want to do my homeworks, projects, or tasks (those 3 are differents). I pushed myself SO HARD to do most of them, especially my project. The thing is, whenever I get to try doing it, it was super hard for my brain to think! Gosh! It was so frustrating this afternoon. I was so upset to myself (and my brain..) that I decided to just take a nap.

And so, I took a one-hour nap and watched Brazil afterwards. Then, I went to work after seeing Kaka's first and apparently only goal in the match. I was hoping to see more action from my Brazillian idol, Ronaldinho, but oh well.. later. Brazil will go a long way :)

Anyway.. I still couldn't get my brain to go my project in my office. I did other office works excellently, but NOT my project. WHY OH WHY?!

But still.. thank God for that magic called "power-nap". I am now staying up all nite doing "stuffs".. something I have not done since... hmmm probably the final exam week last Spring? What I meant by "stuffs" was anything EXCEPT my project. HOW COOL IS THAT?!

Ohhhh! It's just so frustrating that my brain is so dead for design currently. It's super alive for French homeworks, Church' multimedia tasks, cooking Bakmie Ayam Jamur, killing roaches and ants in my kitchen, but why not for DESIGN?!

1. What is (or would be) your dream vacation?
Oh yeyy around the world definitely. It could probably be for my honeymoon with my future husband hahaha. Definitely will go to Hawaii, France, Italy, and Israel, with my bank account filled with $$$ to fulfill my shopping need :)

2. What's one thing no vacation can do without?
I guess my camera :)

3. What has been the best trip of your life so far?
Spring break 2004 road trip to Minnesota, Kansas, Iowa, and Chicago.

4. Who was with you on that trip and what is the role of that person in your life?
Vania, Nita, Ika, Afuk, Tan, PC, and David (not yet my boyfriend at that time). All of them are my beloved church friends.

5. What's the worst thing that can happen during a vacation?
Getting your period, getting sick, and i would agree with Dian, getting your passport stolen.

Ooh by the way.. i've been going to the gym this week, and it is SO HARD to just go everyday! I force myself to, and thank God for Liesda, Kristen, and Hana. They are those people who've been "dragging" me to the gym at the point where I was just too lazy to go :)

Hopefully i can pull it off well for this first exam so that my burden is lighter later.

Oh here comes the headache again. I'm hoping to get off work by 4:30.

Take these hands and lift them up
For I have not the strength to praise You near enough
For I have nothing, I have nothing without You

Take my voice and pour it out
Let it sing the songs of mercy I have found
For I have nothing, I have nothing without You

Take my body and build it up
May it be broken as an offering of love
For I have nothing, I have nothing without You

Take my time here on earth
And let it glorify all that You are worth
For I am nothing,
I am nothing,
I am nothing without You

All my soul needs
Is all Your love to cover me
So all the world will see
But I love You

With all my heart
With all my soul
With all my mind
And all the strength I can find

a prayer of someone that has nothing.. )

Allright. Based on [info]polka_salsa's idea, here goes one of my graphic design school projects.

the photoboard )

Project Name: "What They Say"
Objective: Find a conspiracy theory, take a stand, and promote your opinion in a press kit.
My Project Title: "I Am Jack"
Concept: Revealing the real Jack the Ripper by creating a flow throughout the package, which immitates a legacy box.
The Press Kit: Story Boards tied with ribbon, Diary, CD, and Mini Surgeon Tools (to suggest who the real Ripper is)

I honestly did not get my best grade through this project. This is definitely the project that I did not like at all, FOR SURE. I may never will do something like this again. During the process of doing this project, I have to deal with those creepy pictures of mutilated body, blood, and all. So, that is it, no more! hehe..

I will show you guys more stuff and you'll start to understand that my design style is definitely not related to stuffs like mutilated body, blood, or murders.

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

But I am SO GLAD that I finally got my Digital Printmaking final project, which was my self portrait done in Andy Warhol style. Well I honestly did not put a lot of effort in it but I want them for my room decoration.. haha.
